On May 1, 2019, the investigative functions of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth were transferred to the Ontario Ombudsman. The Ombudsman will take on responsibility for investigations related to services to children and youth by children's aid societies or a residential licensee and will address complaints using the office's early resolution and investigation
